This is just a quick little post to let all the crappie fishermen out there know that the crappie are here! We went out yesterday to Choke Canyon Lake with our good friend and catfish/crappie guide, John Brosig and caught a mess of GOOD crappie. The water temperature was a nice 70 degrees and boy were they biting. It didn’t take us long to catch 50! We even burned up a filet knife cleaning them all!
John called just a while ago to say the he limited out (75 crappie) with the customers he had today. Warning, bring some minnows when you come! There is only one store in this area that sells minnows (the supplier comes every Thursday to restock) and they told me that they sold out on Friday morning. John said there were lots of folks on the lake today trying to catch some crappie on jigs but they were not having near the success as we did on live bait. So, call today to book your room and head down south to Three Rivers, Texas. Come get ‘em while the gettin’s good!
