All the recent flooding in Texas has been devastating to so many people. Not much good has come out of it except that many lakes, aquifers and watersheds filled to capacity and it brought parts of Texas out of the drought we were experiencing.
Our lake, Choke Canyon Lake has been the recipient of much of this rainfall and run off and we couldn’t be happier. Today we are at 41% full. That may not sound very full to you, but our lake hasn’t had that much water in it for over 2 years! We are excited about the upcoming fishing possibilities. My husband and I were out this week fishing Mason Point and the Hydrilla has already begun growing back. We saw some areas that were already matting. In the weeks to come this will bring excellent BIG fish opportunities. Over this past weekend a woman weighed in a 10.67 lb Largemouth down at the Calliham Store, an official weigh station for the ShareLunker program.
